What Is Faith?
Hebrews 11:1-3, NLT
What is faith?
It is the confident assurance
that what we hope for is going to happen.
It is the evidence of things
we cannot yet see.
God gave His approval to people
in days of old
because of their faith.
Hebrews 11:4, NLT
Abel
It was by faith that Abel
brought a more acceptable offering
to God than Cain did.
God accepted Abel's offering
to show that he was a righteous man.
And although Abel is long dead,
he still speaks to us
because of his faith.
Genesis 15:6, NLT
And Abram believed the LORD,
and the LORD declared him righteous
because of his faith.

Later on God tested Abraham's faith and obedience.
"Abraham!" God called.
"Yes," he [Abraham] replied. "Here I am."

and put their faith in him and his servant Moses.

Then Jesus told them,
"I assure you, if you have faith and don't doubt,
you can do things like this and much more.
You can even say to this mountain
'May God lift you up and throw you into the sea,'
and it will happen."
