Dr. Kevin Nunley's Biz Tip:
Producing a TV Commercial

There are a lot more TV channels than there used to be. Independent, low-power, and cable TV have greatly increased the number of places a business can advertise.

The result: TV advertising prices have been coming down. It's not unusual to be able to buy TV commercials in good-sized cities for $60 or less.

New digital technology at cable TV companies lets you buy commercials on specific cable programs.

Keep in mind that, while TV spots can be high-priced, a BIG chunk of your ad budget will go just to get your TV commercial produced.

Make sure you get your most important point across simply and directly. People who produce TV commercials are used to making expensive high-tech ads. You don't need the latest whiz-bang TV effects to sell your ideas.

Save money on production time by arriving organized and ready to work quickly. Use one of the smaller production companies in your community run by people formerly at TV stations and ad agencies.
