TV and Radio Ads Get More Affordable
You have probably seen the headlines that TV stations all over
America are switching to digital technology. Cable systems are going
digital, too. Radio recently got its first radios that receive
signals beamed from satellites.
This marks a BIG change for media and advertising. No one really
knows how it will all turn out, but there will surely be surprising
opportunities for small businesses.
Digital broadcasting opens up a lot more channels. Instead of one
station per frequency, we will have many channels available on each
frequency. Your favorite radio station may split into five. Your
local TV station may offer multiple channels.
Watch for many more channels to become available and for TV ad rates
to drop. Even very small businesses may be able to afford their own
TV ads. Some legal experts are suggesting that average citizens will
be able to own their own broadcast stations.
