Get a BIG Radio Remote
One of the most popular kinds of BIG local advertising are
radio remotes. You hire a radio station to send a DJ to your location
to read your commercials live.
Radio remotes can be a big deal. Many stations send several DJs,
support personnel, free prizes for shoppers, and every vehicle the
station owns.
You can make the special event even bigger by bringing in a magician,
clown, balloons for the kids, or a live band. In parts of Louisiana,
remotes always include a guy dishing out free jambalaya. A furniture
store near here always offers free or low-cost hot dogs and drinks.
Even though an impressive dog and pony show can make remotes fun, the
real benefit comes from all the commercials that run on the air. Ask
the station for a special low-rate package on at least 30 commercials
leading up to the remote. Start promoting at least a week in advance.
Most of the people who are interested in your commercials won't make
it to your remote. Extend your special prices and offers into the
following week. Harvest residual sales.
