Get Beyond Customer Fears
A sales expert recently told me, "The reason some people don't
buy is that they're afraid." "Afraid?" I asked.
"Afraid of what?" "Many otherwise normal folks
are scared to death of salespeople." Most of us are much more at
ease if the salesperson approaches us with a natural non-sales personality.
These days many more people have a fear of owing money. Maxed out
credit cards and expensive car payments have left us with a bad
taste. Sell people on the value of your product or service. The value
you provide may make the money they spend a small price to pay.
People are afraid they will be lied to. Most have been duped at least
once by a slick ad or fast-talking politician. Put them at ease by
showing them your long list of satisfied clients and customers.
Nothing builds trust like a good batch of raving testimonials.
